Rachael Sage & The Sequins Release New Album ‘Under My Canopy’

Rachael Sage & The Sequins have officially released their new album Under My Canopy. Ahead of the album’s release, the NYC-based singer-songwriter, musician, activist, and philanthropist released four acoustic singles.

Produced and recorded by an incredible team, Under My Canopy is an acoustic reinvention of Rachael Sage & The Sequins’ 2025 album Canopy. The diverse collection of songs feature themes of resilience, longing, and determination brought to life with imaginative new arrangements. The record spans across genres such as Americana, pop, and neo-folk, offering listeners a thoughtful assortment of songs rooted in inclusiveness, equality, and non-violence.

Sage’s songs do not shy away from modern issues. Instead, she faces them head-on with songs like “Underneath (Acoustic)”, a haunting response to mass shootings in America and “Nexus (Acoustic)”, which honors a young teen who passed away after being beaten by school peers for being nonbinary. “Canopy (Acoustic)” is a more hopeful song that explores radical inclusivity, non-violence, and environmental consciousness. Sage’s multifaceted activism shines brightly in this record.

Rachael Sage’s impressive career includes over 20 albums, years of dedicated activism, and the creation of her own record label, MPress Records, in 1996. Over the years, Sage has shared the stage with artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Ani DiFranco, and Judy Collins. Her career has been defined by a passion for storytelling and an innovative sense of creativity which extends beyond her music and into other mediums including ballet. A self-described “cancer thriver”, she is additionally a philanthropic advocate who has raised money for a wide range of causes, including Foundation For Women’s Cancer, WHY Hunger, and The Trevor Project.

Under My Canopy is one of Rachael Sage’s most soulful and thought-provoking works to date. With the acoustic reimaginings of Canopy as her base, she has breathed a new life into these songs that cover a wide range of topics. Within all of the songs, there is an air of hope for a brighter future reflective of the type of work Sage performs outside the studio.

Under My Canopy is available on all streaming platforms, including Spotify.
