Molly Tuttle and Lukas Nelson made for a pretty perfect pairing at the Palace Theatre on Wednesday, September 9.
Molly’s set was sharp, fun and full of personality, mixing originals like “The Highway Knows” and “Alice in the Bluegrass” with covers of “Big Yellow Taxi” and “9 to 5.”
Lukas Nelson followed with a more laid-back, soulful set, leaning into songs like “Find Yourself,” “Just Outside of Austin” and “(Forget About) Georgia.”
His take on Willie Nelson’s “Bloody Mary Morning” was an easy highlight. Two very different sets, but both built around great songs, killer musicianship and a lot of heart.
