This year’s two-day Northwest Jazz Festival is set to begin on Aug. 22 in Lewiston, offering visitors with a grand celebration of a century of jazz music.

The festival, considered the largest of its kind in the region, will feature top talent this year with an incredible lineup. Friday’s performers include the Dan Wilson Organ Trio, Hot Club Buffalo featuring Pat Bianchi and Jeff “Tain” Watts, Matt’s Musical Vocal Performance Team, My Cousin Toné and more. Saturday’s performers include Tony Monaco’s House Party, Ian Liedke Quartet, Lance Tanner Duo, Tim Dyet Jazz Accordion, Mary Ramsey and Friends and more.
“This year’s festival embodies the spirit of tradition that defined jazz,” Chairperson of the Board of Directors Carol Calato said. “We are proud to bring together such an exceptional array of talent that honors our musical roots while paving the way for the next generation. It is a celebration of our community’s passion for live music.”

Saturday night’s headlining trumpeter and vocalist Jumaane Smith, with notable works with GRAMMY-winning artist Michael Bublé, will lead an ensemble in a Celebration of Louis Armstrong and the Spirit of Swing. This performance marks the 100th anniversary of Armstrong’s Hot Five’s first historic performance, considered one of the most pivotal moments in jazz history. The UB Zodiaque Dance Company also celebrates a remarking 50 years of performances and history this year, with a commemorating performance on Saturday.

This diverse lineup reflects our commitment to celebrating every facet of this remarkable art form, and we invite everyone to join us in Lewiston for an unforgettable weekend of live music, community, and celebration.”

This year’s Frontier House Stage will feature the next generation’s regional talent, featuring performances by the Ian Liedke Quartet, the Jay/Sharpet, the Quentet and a closing set by saxophonist Kevin Hall and his band. The Peace Garden Stage will debut many performers, including the April Mazzone and Jack Civiletto Duo, the Laura Howse and Jennifer May Duo, the Lance Tanner Duo and the Elliot Sneider Duo. The DiCamillo Courtyard will feature intimate, solo performances by artists Jim Gardner, Nate Kalnitz, Tim Dyet, Maria Sebastian and Donny Frauenhofer.
The Northwest Jazz Festival is an annual celebration dedicated to showcasing world-class jazz performances in Lewiston, New York, focusing on nurturing local talent and creating a vibrant cultural community. The festival is considered one of the largest, free jazz festivals in the region, attracting over 25,000 visitors each year.
