Divided Sky’s Big Weekend has announced its return to Ludlow, Vermont, this May. The weekend is in partnership with The Phoenix to present the 3rd annual Music on the Mountain and celebrate the 5th Annual Divided Sky Fun(d) Run.
At the center of the weekend is the Divided Sky Fun(d) Run, an annual 5k walk/run, which will be held on May 16th. The 5k offers the opportunity for runners, walkers, and supporters to come together in support of addiction recovery. All proceeds from the 5k will benefit Divided Sky and other addiction recovery initiatives in Vermont.
In partnership with The Phoenix, the weekend will present Music on the Mountain, offering exciting performances and the opportunity to see talented artists on May 16th from 12 to 8 pm.
Artists and bands performing at MOTM include Eggy, a genre-blending 4-piece rock band, and LaMP, an organ-forward trio with Scott Metzger (JRAD), Ray Paczkowski, and Russ Lawton.
In addition, other returning artists, such as Karina Rykman, a bassist and songwriter, and Anders Osborne along with Jackie Greene, Daniel Donato, Natalie Cressmen, and Jennifer Hartswick, will perform.
MOTM also welcomes new artists, including 2ŁØT, with high-energy improvisation and a blend of electronic production and jazz fusion, and The Trombone Shorty Foundation Band, an iconic ensemble of emerging New Orleans Musicians.
The music celebration will continue after the sun goes down with the Big Weekend All-Stars After Party, featuring Karina Rykman, Rian Murray, Jimmy Law, Daniel Donato, Dezron Douglas, Joe Dyson, Jennifer Hartswick, and Natalie Cressman in a one-of-a-kind ensemble.
The weekend will also offer multiple events and activities. On Friday evening, the weekend will kick off with “Minstrels and Mocktails,” a dinner concert with friends, supporters, and alumni musical guests Sean Leahy and Kate Gaffney. After “Minstrels and Mocktails” on Friday evening, Andres Osborne, Daniel Donato, and Jackie Greene will perform as part of the Campfire Jam. Tickets for Campfire Jam must be purchased here.
On Sunday, May 17th, the special weekend will conclude with a free Acoustic Brunch with Murray’s Law (Brian Murray and Jimmy Law) and Evan Jennison, a Vermont guitarist. The Acoustic Brunch will offer a communal reflection on the weekend of celebrations and fun.
Divided Sky’s Big Weekend offers a unique opportunity to participate in exciting events, participate in a 5k, and enjoy Music on the Mountain while supporting the importance of addiction recovery support.
