Sarah Kinsley Plays Upcoming EP at Baby’s All Right Secret Show

Sarah Kinsley debuted her new EP with a secret, double header set at Baby’s All Right on November 17th. This was the second secret show for Kinsley who first revealed the EP at El Cid in LA on the 12th, before returning home for a second show at the beloved NYC venue on Monday.

Kinsley is one of a select few bringing back the synth-pop sound. Her newest single “Fleeting” exudes Kate Bush “Running Up That Hill” energy, with its punchy, bouncy, reverb saturated drums. The upcoming EP feels like a natural continuation of her 2024 album Escaper, with “Fleeting” being a fierce contender with “There Was A Room” for her most dance inducing entry.

Kinsley’s vocal talent is shocking, you almost wouldn’t believe she was singing live the way she effortlessly floats across the stage if not for her (exceptionally well-controlled) breathing. Her dreamlike vocals are heightened by her signature contact microphone, one of the reasons for her initial rise to fame. Her use of dual microphones gives her voice a crunchy complexity that sets her far apart from other artists in the space.

Sarah Kinsley didn’t stop at playing her EP though, following it up with some of her biggest hits like “The Giver” and “The King.” She ended the show with “Oh No Darling,” getting everyone in the room jumping like you had told them there was a music video being filmed.
