Hudson River Music Festival Returns to Croton Point Park, Announces Slate of America 250 Programming

The Hudson River Music Festival announced its return to Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson on Sunday, June 21, with a lineup headlined by Warren Haynes, Jesse Welles and Toshi Reagon across two stages on the Hudson River waterfront.

The festival’s marquee set brings together Haynes, founding member of Gov’t Mule and a longtime force in the Allman Brothers Band, with Grahame Lesh, co-founder of Midnight North and a torchbearer of the Grateful Dead legacy, and Daniel Donato, whose “Cosmic Country” sound blends jam and roots music. The one-time collaboration is billed as a first for all three artists performing together.

On the Hudson Stage, four-time Grammy nominee Jesse Welles will perform his socially conscious folk songs. A self-described troubadour from Arkansas, Welles built his following through raw, politically charged acoustic performances online before translating that momentum into late-night television appearances and sold-out shows nationwide.

Multi-talented singer, composer and musician Toshi Reagon also performs on the Hudson Stage. Her sound spans folk, funk, blues and rock, and her presence carries particular resonance at a festival rooted in the legacy of Toshi Seeger, for whom she is named.

The Rainbow Stage features composer and multi-instrumentalist David Amram, Tom Chapin and The Chapin Sisters, the Guthrie Family Singers, The Ebony Hillbillies, Leah Song of Rising Appalachia, and Damaris Bojor, a rising figure in the Mexican music scene and creator of the genre she calls “Folkpirano.”

A new North Star Stage hosts all-ages programming throughout the day, including sets from The Rock and Roll Playhouse, yoga sessions, a kids arts and crafts area and roaming performances from puppeteers connected to the Jim Henson Studios. A panel on climate change and a curated selection of environmental organizations will also be present on the grounds.

The North Field will transform into a hub for advocacy, education, and action, hosting a curated selection of community environmental organizations, grassroots activist groups, and a high-level panel on Climate Change. From hands-on creativity to river-inspired spectacle, the festival offers a vibrant, multi-generational celebration perfect for Father’s Day along the waterfront and exploratory, hands-on activities that honor the nation’s 250-year history through folk traditions, environmental stewardship, and community activism.

America 250 Programming

A slate of programming centered around America 250. In partnership with the Guthrie & Dylan Centers, the festival will highlight enduring American song tradition through artists like Woody Gutherie, Bob Dylan, and others in their creative lineage. The festival grounds will include an on-site exhibit on Woody Guthrie. Additionally, the Woody Guthrie Tent will also host a 45 minute family-friendly creative writing workshop. Led by the New York City Children’s Theater, festival-goers can participate in two 30 minute sessions that include performances of several Woody Guthrie covers in addition to an interactive writing exercise facilitated by playwright Frank Ruiz. Tickets available for purchase HERE.

Rooted in the spirit of Pete and Toshi Seeger’s folk picnics, the festival returns to Croton Point Park for the second year presented by Harper House Music Foundation, Riverfest FPS (For Pete’s Sake) and Dayglo Presents. This all-ages day aims to bring together music lovers, environmental advocates, and families for a vibrant celebration. From musical performances to community-driven experiences, the festival continues to carry the torch of a beloved tradition in the Hudson Valley area. Dedicated to sustainability, and commitment to a Zero Waste future, attendees will be encouraged to reduce their environmental impact and enjoy a greener, more responsible experience.

From timeless classics to new collaborations, the Hudson River Music Festival continues to celebrate the music, history, and community that make this region so extraordinary, creating memories and moments that will become part of the festival’s story for years to come. The Guthrie Family Singers are part of this year’s stand-out lineup which also includes genre defying “Cosmic Country” headliner Daniel Donato, Allman Brothers band member Warren Haynes, Margo Price, and Grahame Lesh. Modeled after Seeger’s original vision, the festival brings together a new wave of folk and Americana voices carrying that mission forward and using their platforms to reflect and shape the evolving American story.

Now in its second year, the festival is presented by Harper House Music Foundation, RiverFest FPS (For Pete’s Sake) and Dayglo Presents, the live music company led by Peter Shapiro. The festival is rooted in the tradition of folk picnics along the Hudson River organized by Pete and Toshi Seeger.

The festival is committed to zero-waste sustainability and offers ADA parking, accessible shuttles including service to Croton-Harmon Train Station, accessible viewing areas at both stages and ASL interpreters for all Hudson Stage and Rainbow Stage performances.

Tickets are on sale now with general admission, parking passes and VIP options available at hudsonrivermusicfestival.com. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a GA ticketed adult.
