At this point in their career, The Black Keys are no stranger to the stage. After a energetic set at The Capitol Theatre, The Black Keys continue their Peaches ‘N Kream world tour with two sold-out dates at Brooklyn Paramount. Fixated on that heavy blues-rock sound, their performances typically call in a crowd from all over.
Whether it’s long time fans from the early 2000s, college students or kids jamming out with their parents, listeners gathered together on May 12 to witness Dan Auerbach’s killer guitar solos and Patrick Carney’s thunderous drums.

The night began around 7:30pm with Eddy 9V (aka Eddy 9-Volt) to hype up the crowd. With a soulful guitar sound, Eddy 9V’s most recent album, Saratoga, had listeners swaying in tune. He frequently circulates in the blues scene, backed with a 3-piece group consisting of guitar, drums, and electric keys. At this point, 9V’s rhythmic and soulful playing had the crowd revved with energy for the performance ahead.

At 9pm, the lights went out across Brooklyn Paramount. As Ted Lucas’ “It’s So Nice To Get Stoned,” trickled through the speakers, Carney and Auerbach took the stage. Slowly a blue glown cascaded down as Dan Auerbach opened up with the beginning riff to “Little Black Submarines.” Right as the beat dropped, Auerbach switched to an electric guitar. A gritty guitar solo pouring off stage with Carney hammering down on the now illuminated drum set.

The Black Keys transitioned into other favorites such as “Gold On the Ceiling” and “Tighten Up.” The audience sang along on every chorus they knew. Brooklyn Paramount became a whirlwind of fans dancing, clapping and recording.

In honor of their most recent album, Peaches!, The Black Keys tossed a few new songs into the mix. Such as, Willie Griffins’ “When There’s Smoke There’s Fire.” The duo even brought back Eddy 9V to the stage for a richer sound. Even after two decades, The Black Keys know how to make their presence known. They continue to experiment as a duo, constantly leaning back into the roots of blues-rock and soul, now backed by a seven-piece ensemble.

The night concluded with four encore songs, including their most listened-to track, “Lonely Boy.” With the official music video gaining more than 186 million views, Auerbach tilted his mic towards the pit to take the lead. The Peaches ‘N Kream world tour continues with stops across the US, Europe and Canada.
