The Growlers performed at Brooklyn Steel on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 breaking a long six year touring hiatus.

The Growlers are a Southern California based band known for their coined “Beach Goth” sound of surf rock and psychedelic tones. The band has successfully built what some would call a cult following over the years, with the New York alternative rock demo being no exception. As part of their 2026 North America Tour spanning 27 dates across the U.S., the show marked a key stop in their long awaited return to the road.

The Growlers kicked off their set with a classic, “Drinking the Juice” off their 2009 EP Couples Vol. 8. Led by vocalist, Brooks Neilson, the band set a tone for what was to come throughout the night. With New York City finally defrosting and temperatures tipping into the 80s after what seemed like the longest (and coldest) winter in recent years, the crowd beamed with electric energy throughout the 2 hour set.
Setlist: Drinkin’ the Juice Blues (Hashima), Row, One Million Lovers, Problems III, The Daisy Chain, Psycho (Eddie Noack cover), Love Test, Gay Thoughts, Tropical Cowboy, When You Were Made, Dope on a Rope, Try Hard Fool, Monotonía, Some Velvet Morning (Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood cover), Wet Dreams, Crisis, Night Ride, City Club, I’ll Be Around
Encore: Feel My Funk, Empty Bones, Going Gets Tough
