Bad Mary Honors “Rocky Horror” with “Time Warp” Lyric Video

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the cult classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Long Island glam punk band Bad Mary has released its lyric video of their latest single, “Time Warp.”

Honoring the film’s renewed popularity, “Time Warp” perfectly encapsulates the film’s trademark theatricality: an over-the-top punk and rock ballad heightened by impressive instrumentals and vocals.

Made up of lead vocalist Amanda Mac, her husband Mike Staub on bass, her father Bill Mac on drums, and her professor David Henderson on guitar, Bad Mary weaves thumping power and brainworm riffs as if it were a blast back to the 1980s.

The band’s sound easily translates to its latest single. Taking on a harder rock approach, Bad Mary’s “Time Warp” maintains the same rambunctiousness while adding a layered intensity. While the film’s version incorporates an ensemble of singers, Bad Mary’s “Time Warp” only features Amanda and her husband on vocals. Regardless, the single is a brilliant testament to the film’s iconic song.
