Brooklyn Conservatory of Music to Host 10th Annual House Party This Thursday

The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music (BKCM), the 128-year-old nonprofit organization aiming to foster community through music, is hosting their 10th annual House Party fundraiser on Thursday, November 6, from 7:00-11:00 p.m.

House Party will feature 30+ musical acts performing across two free outdoor stages and one ticketed indoor stage. BKCM promises the event will also include immersive experiences, food and drink offerings from local vendors, and an honoring of Chad Cooper for completing 10 years as Executive Director of the Conservatory.

According to Cooper, House Party was designed to be an unconventional fundraiser. Guests should want to attend House Party not merely to donate to a good cause (or to sit down watching speeches and slideshows), but mainly because they know they’ll have genuine fun immersing themselves in Brooklyn music and culture.

House Party is a ticketed event, but 2 of the outdoor stages will be free and open to the public, showcasing standout performers such as Red Baraat, Femme Jam, and Slavic Soul Party. Ticketholders will get access to the indoor stage, which will feature acts like Michael Daves, VJ Ralph McDaniels, and Melvis Santa.

This event comes shortly after the announcement of BKCM’s expansion to One Prospect Park West, just four blocks from its 58 7th Avenue headquarters. With this 12,000 square-foot expansion site, BKCM will double the number of New Yorkers they reach while also implementing their brand-new Music Therapy Institute. This expansion is just component of BKCM’s $40 million capital campaign project, which is possible thanks to support from The Joel Foundation, the Morris and Alma Schapiro Fund, NYC and State partners, and many more philanthropic leaders.
