Bazooka! Fest 2026 returns to Brooklyn for the weekend of August 23 and August 24. The two-day event will feature 29 artists from different genres ranging from punk, rock, pop, and shoegaze. The festival will feature two stages at The Meadows and The Wood Shop.
The music festival is independently owned and operated by Jake Whitener, former Director of A&R at Matador Records. He personally curates and picks who joins the lineup, with artists old and new playing at the festival.
“I think having a line-up that crosses generations is so exciting because you can show people that the golden days of indie music are still happening.” Whitener explains. “I wanted Bazooka to be a place to celebrate that.”
Whitener also tries to make Bazooka a festival that brings the ease of music discovery, intimate performances, and the building of that community. “I always heard about festivals like All Tomorrow’s Parties or Athens Pop Fest that were super curated and featured these iconic artists playing in smaller venues alongside these exciting new bands that they directly influenced.”
Rock band Times New Viking are reuniting to play their first show in a decade at the festival. They will co-headline on Saturday alongside indie-rock band Cloud Nothings. Other artists such as Hudson’s very own $500, Sad13, Vivian, and more will also perform.
Sunday’s lineup is headlined by the “Greatest Living Songwriters” of America and Canada, Stephen Merritt and Destroyer respectively. They will both perform special solo sets supported by Joanna Sternberg, who recently collaborated with Merritt for her upcoming album. Sunday will take on a more experimental approach with Asher White, Kiwi Jr., Chime School, and more.
VIP pass holders can attend an exclusive “After Hours After Party” on Saturday at The Wood Shop. The after party will feature live punk karaoke with punk band Powdermaker and a dance party from DJs Pyramid Schemes. Regular ticketholders can also attend the event for an extra $19.
