Boston-born, New England-based quartet Strange Machines are a true melting pot of musical fusion. With sounds catering to funk, livetronica, rock, reggae, and a multitude of other genres, they string them together seamlessly creating fluid and captivating live performances. The band is set to release their third full-length album ‘Playing with Fire’ in October of 2025, and has recently dropped the first single ‘Time to Go‘.

Strange Machines have shared the stage with national-touring acts such as The Disco Biscuits, Twiddle, Dopapod, Papadosio, Goose, EOTO, The Motet, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Spafford, lespecial, Neighbor, Kung Fu, TAUK, Deep Banana Blackout, and more. Strange Machines have carved out their own niche in the East Coast music scene and beyond, and show no signs of slowing down. Their original songs are nuanced by creative composition, practiced precision, and a looseness that allows them to explore.

“Time to Go” is a track that showcases melodic build-ups and beautiful guitar riffs. The track leans far into an upbeat funk at the beginning, then progresses into a louder rock sound, and continues to alternate throughout. The melodic sections showcase singer Mike MacDonald’s distinctive voice and poignant storytelling.
Striving to deliver a high-energy and engaging live performance consistently, the band has continued to gain momentum in the Northeast and beyond. This single aims to capture the diversity and big sound you will experience at a Strange Machines show.
