Schleigho is planning on an indefinite hiatus, with one final show planned for April 12 at iconic venue Colony in Woodstock.

Schleigho (pronounced shlay-ho) is a NYC four-piece that came together while attending Boston’s Berklee School of Music in the early 1990s. Drummer Erik Egol, flutist/guitarist Suke Cerulo, jazz pianist Jesse Gibbon, and bassist Drew McCabe became entranced with jazz early on and molded a sound similar to the likes of Bela Fleck and Medeski, Martin, & Wood.

Schleigho was a nationally touring jazz-fusion band since the early 1990’s and released 5 albums, playing regularly at clubs and theaters up and down the East coast, Midwest and West coast from the mid ’90’s and early 2000’s. Their sound – instrumental, energetic, raw and at times sinister – was unmistakable. By the turn of the millennium, the band was playing roughly 200 shows a year.
Traveling the Northeast college circuit in the 90s led to them being regulars at the Knitting Factory in NYC and played with jazz aficionados Fleck, Maceo Parker, and Galactic. Schleigho will take you on a musical journey through edgy improv, hypnotic vibey grooves, and intricately composed and heady, progressive originals spanning three decades.

As the band said in a statement on social media, “It will be a long time, if ever, that you get to see another Schleigho show, so start making plans to make the trip and join us for this very special evening.” Special guests are planned for the evening to join Schleigho on stage.
Having performed for more than 30 years, the band looks forward to one final night with friends and fans who have been a part of the band’s performances in that time.
The two set show will begin at 7pm on April 12, and is an all ages event. Tickets for Schleigho’s final show are $17 in advance and $22 day of and are available here.
