New York Americana supergroup Fantastic Cat return with their latest single, “Elevator,” a sharp, high-energy track that blends biting social commentary with the band’s signature wit and loose, rootsy swagger.

On Fantastic Cat “Elevator,” the band leans into themes of class divide, consumerism, and modern existential dread, all wrapped in a sound that feels as chaotic and alive as their live performances. Despite its heavy subject matter, the track maintains a sense of humor and momentum, making it as engaging as it is thought-provoking.
On Fantastic Cat “Elevator,” those ideas are delivered through a mix of driving instrumentation and layered harmonies that highlight the band’s collaborative songwriting style.
“Everybody at the botton wants a shortcut. Everybody at the top wants to pull the ladder up behind them.”
Anthony D’Amato
“Elevator” serves as the final preview of the band’s upcoming third album Cat Out Of Hell, due April 10, and follows earlier singles “Donnie Takes The Bus” and “Don’t Let Go,” which have already begun to build momentum for the release.
Comprised of four accomplished songwriters — Brian Dunne, Anthony D’Amato, Don DiLego, and Mike Montali — Fantastic Cat has earned a reputation as one of New York’s most dynamic live acts. Their blend of folk, rock, and Americana has drawn comparisons to both classic supergroups and modern collectives, with an emphasis on chemistry and spontaneity.

Fans will have a chance to catch the band live when they return home to New York City for two shows at Mercury Lounge on June 5, offering an intimate setting to تجربه the new material alongside fan favorites.
With Fantastic Cat “Elevator,” the band delivers a timely and energetic preview of what’s to come on Cat Out Of Hell, balancing sharp commentary with the kind of musical looseness that continues to set them apart in the Americana scene.
