“I’m European, and I play Eurodanceeee!” Windows95man yelled from Irving Plaza’s mainstage on Saturday, January 18. That’s exactly what the Finnish DJ and visual artists did while surrounded by 1990s nostalgia and early internet-age visual effects during his hour set.

If you didn’t follow last year’s Eurovision (Europe’s international song competition), you may not have heard of Windows95man. He captured headlines and internet fame when he emerged from a giant denim-coated egg wearing a shirt and hat with the Windows95 logo and seemingly no pants during the performance of his hit “No Rules.”
Windows95man’s (A.K.A Teemu Keisteri) stunt highlighted our collective nostalgia for the early internet age, and he has continued to ride that wave with his first-ever U.S. Tour.

Up-and-coming Polish singer LUNA took the stage to start the night. The singer brought together pre-recorded tracks with a live guitarist to perform for the New York City crowd. This was the young artist’s first time in The City, and you could feel her nerves at the beginning of the performance as she missed some notes and rushed through the first half of the set. With that said, her stage performance was fun and energetic, and as the set moved to her most famous song, “The Tower,” she was able to settle into her performance.
The singer even previewed new tracks from her upcoming album, set to be released February 7th.

When Windows95man hit the stage, it was with a flourish – striding to this DJ stand with a Microsoft flag waving behind him. Shortly after he was at his turntable, a human-sized Clippy, yes, the Microsoft Office assistant who always asked if you needed help with that letter, joined the DJ on stage. As they both danced to PSY’s “Gangnam Style,” the audience started jumping – getting into the mood that would last throughout the set.

Windows95man took his Eurovision Song “No Rules” to heart throughout the night. Playing hit dance songs from the late 90s through today while massive visuals of the artist rendered in early 2,000s software and images of DVDs floated behind him.
True to his name Windows95man took nostalgia to a whole new level – with each moment of the concert bringing new twists and turns. From humping the giant Clippy to shadow boxing it, throwing off his pants, and wrapping himself in windows memorabilia – the artist pulled out all the stops to entertain the audience in his first-ever U.S. appearance.

As the night went on, Windows95man played songs from Finland and the EU before playing a new original track called “What’s My Name.” The night ended where it began, with a focus on Eurodance hits – with a special call out for Darude’s “SandStorm” – the “top Finnish song ever” according to Windows95man. Because what night of dance music would be complete without “Sandstorm?”

Windows95Man’s Tour continues through January 25th across the U.S. before heading back to Europe.
