New York City Celebrates the Rockettes’ 100th Anniversary

To celebrate the Rockettes’ 100th Anniversary, Madison Square Garden Entertainment has announced all of the ways that businesses and locations across New York City are honoring the centennial of the iconic dance company.

On the morning of Friday, November 7, the New York City Department of Transportation revealed the new street sign on Sixth Avenue in front of Radio City Music Hall – From now until November 21, Sixth Avenue from 50th to 51st street will be known as “Rockettes Way.” Current and former Rockettes from the company’s decades of history attended the unveiling event, performing their iconic kicks to “New York, New York” on the newly-named “Rockettes Way.”

Inside Radio City Music Hall, guests attending the 2025 Christmas Spectacular will be able to view several archival costume exhibits and activations in honor of the anniversary. Limited edition food and beverage items will also be for sale, including the “Rockettini” (served in a souvenir martini glass) and Wooden Soldiers popcorn buckets and cake pops. Merchandise will also include ornaments, a snow globe, and a commemorative 100th Anniversary program.

The Rockettes have also partnered with LEGOLAND® New York Resort to have two life-side Wooden soldier LEGO® figures displayed at Radio City’s 2nd Mezzanine beginning on November 14. A pre-show video dedicated to the Rockettes’ history will also run prior to every Christmas Spectacular performance.

Several other locations throughout NYC are also joining in to celebrate this milestone. At the Empire State Building, where the Rockettes made their annual visit to light the tower in its holiday display, they also got to unveil an additional series of displays throughout the building celebrating the Rockettes’ legacy. These displays, which feature more Christmas Spectacular costumes, will remain on display through the run of the show in the 5th Avenue windows, on the 80th floor observatory, and on the 86th floor.

The Museum of Broadway will also host an exhibit entitled “The Rockettes 100th Anniversary: A Century of Sisterhood,” opening on November 13 and running through January 5. The exhibit is said to commemorate the Rockettes’ style, choreography, and legacy, showcasing pieces by renowned Broadway designers such as Bob Mackie and Gregg Barnes. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in the world of the Christmas Spectacular, complete with a photo op alongside the famous Wooden Soldiers.

New York City restaurants are also getting in on the excitement – the iconic Serendipity 3 will be serving the limited editing Rockettes 100 PB&J Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, served in a Serendipity goblet with a rim of peanut butter and PB&J crumbs, topped with a Rockettes 100 icing sheet. Magnolia Bakery has also created an exclusive Rockettes Red Velvet Cupcake topped with an edible Rockettes 100 image, available only at the bakery’s Rockefeller Center location.

Waterford has also teamed up with the Rockettes to bring fans a limited-edition crystal ornament, each individually numbered and sandblasted with the Rockettes logo and 100-year emblem. Ornaments are available for purchase here and in limited quantities at Radio City. The final Rockettes 100 collaboration comes to us from NY-based lifestyle brand Kith, who’s created a capsule featuring custom Kith, Rockettes, and Radio City artwork across a range of styles, releasing on December 5 at Kith locations and on their website.

“The Rockettes have always been part of the cultural fabric of New York City – entertaining and inspiring audiences from across the globe from their home at Radio City Music Hall. In this milestone year for the Rockettes, we’re proud that iconic brands and institutions across the City are celebrating their legacy and honoring their lasting impact on entertainment.”
