-- ESCAPER The definition of an “escaper” is, “one who breaks loose from confinement.” The space rock, spy funk band was just named one of "5 Bands You Need to Know" in the “On the Verge” feature of Relix Magazine (October 2017 edition).**
The band released their first album with Ropeadope Records in May 2017 to critical acclaim including being named one of three "Release Day Picks" by JamBase. Live for Live Music said, “Their sound is a reckoning force of funky fusion music...there’s no telling how high this band can climb."
The band will release their 2nd album in February 2018. As with the first album, it was recorded at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, with all five band members playing together simultaneously, while in isolated rooms. Recording this way helped capture the great live synergy between the players which you can witness during their performances. Their live sets tend to be open with many in-the-moment improvisational aspects, and this essence was not lost during the studio recordings. Bandleader and guitarist, Will Hanza, expresses, “The term ‘jam’ can be a loaded one, but the idea of having some concrete ideas, while still allowing the music to be open to take advantage of the moment is really important to us.”
Their live shows are known for keeping the late night funky dance parties going strong. The band has already shared the stage with notable acts such as Aqueous, Jimkata, Roots of Creation, Strange Machines, G-Nome Project, Ghost of Paul Revere, ShwizZ and Teddy Midnight, and its members have graced numerous stages from Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, Camp Bisco, Electric Forest and Catskill Chill to Hammerstein Ballroom, 9:30 Club, Cervantes, World Cafe Live and Brooklyn Bowl.
"A mind blowing set filled with psychedelic guitar virtuosity, tight grooves, and impressive musicianship." - The Jamwich
“This up-and-coming juggernaut blends together effortlessly with each member adding his own unique flavor. The band’s music alone draws you in, but it’s their connection to it and to each other that truly completes the package. Their passion oozes out of each and every note they play as they seamlessly take turns controlling the stage.” - Music Fest News

Jack is an indie punk rock band harboring from singer songwriter Brittany Costa. Above all else, Jack seems to represent itself as an intuitive healing tool for both performer and listener. With pulsing raw lyrics and a sweet to salty guitar performance, Jack conveys to it's audience a feeling of solidarity in the most vulnerable of places.
After releasing the EP "Resting Places" under Steakhouse Records in 2016, Brittany left her home in Brooklyn to finish writing the LP in Buffalo, NY. Her debut full length, "Alchemical Rounds", explores the symbiotic relationship of light and dark in our existence as humans - through getting lost - through looking into the mirror of our shadow self - through throwing oneself into the fire. It was recorded in New Bedford, MA with Kiril Orenstein (of Bears) on drums and bass, Costa on guitars and vocals. Kiril's performance is undeniably a powerful and absolute essential element to Alchemical Rounds - creating the hefty and heavily rooted foundation with which Costa can safely and energetically place her thoughts.
Alchemical Rounds is due out March 1st with Sad Cactus Records.

The music that Wyclef Jean has written, performed, and produced — both as a solo superstar and as founder and guiding member of the Fugees — has been a consistently powerful, pop cultural force for over two decades. In 1996, the Fugees released their monumental album The Score, which inspired notoriously prickly rock critic Robert Christgau to write: “so beautiful and funny, its courage could make you weep.” The album, created in Wyclef’s studio in his uncle’s basement in New Jersey, hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned a trio of smash singles (including their indelible reinvention of Roberta Flack’s 1973 ballad “Killing Me Softly”), and is now certified six times platinum. But Wyclef, a child prodigy with a wealth of musical influences from jazz to classic rock to reggae, resisted the pressure to duplicate the sound and style of that masterwork. Instead, he launched himself as a producer and solo artist whose work drew from an innovative and eclectic palette that included elements of pop, country, folk, disco, Latin, and electronic music.
“I just keep moving,” he says today. “If I didn’t keep moving after The Score, y’all wouldn’t have had the biggest pop song of all time.” Wyclef is referring to Shakira’s chart-topping single “Hips Don’t Lie,” which he co-wrote, produced and is featured on. That 2006 blockbuster climbed to No. 1 in 20 countries including the U.S. — a crowning achievement atop a nearly unprecedented run of hits that include Wyclef’s own “Gone Till November,” “Ghetto Superstar” (Pras feat. Wyclef Jean), Carlos Santana’s No. 1 single “Maria, Maria” (featuring Jean and Product G&B) and the late Whitney Houston’s “My Love is Your Love.” “The only record that captures Whitney, her daughter [Bobbi Kristina], and Bobby Brown all on one song,” Wyclef says of it.
Wyclef has been rewarded for his creativity and adventurousness with three Grammy Awards, a spot on the cover of Rolling Stone ’s special “Top 50 Hip Hop Players,” and the opportunity to make music with such legends as Michael Jackson, Queen, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kenny Rogers, and Tom Jones. As a solo artist, he has released six albums that have sold nearly nine million copies worldwide, including his 1997 debut The Carnival and 2000’s aptly titled The Eclectic: 2 Sides II a Book, which even turned wrestling superstar/action hero The Rock into a pop star with the international hit single “It Doesn’t Matter.” Through it all, Wyclef kept an ear cocked for new talent. He helped launch Beyoncé’s career with Destiny’s Child’s early hit “No, No, No.”
While it’s been eight years since his last studio album, Wyclef has not abandoned his dedication to sonic excursions. His new album the Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee, features contributions from Emeli Sandé, Supah Mario, The Knocks and Lunch Money Lewis. The album was recently named one of the “25 Most Anticipated Albums” of the fall by Billboard.

Oak House is a band built on deftly balanced juxtaposition — an experiment in the visceral and contemplative, the base and the beautiful. Rock music at it's core, the writing of frontman Gresham Cash expresses palpable tension — it's an investigation of life's inevitable conflicts.
Comprised of frontman and guitarist Cash, drummer Wes Gregory and bassist Connor Sabula, the band formed in Athens, Georgia during the winter of 2014. Since, they've grown a reputation for their violent, high energy shows and strikingly inventive sound. Oak House plays a heavy synthesis of melodic indie rock, psychedelic, experimental and grunge, though Cash finds most of his inspiration for songwriting in classical, jazz, Eastern melody and contemporary, minimal instrumental music. Their sound is cinematic, sweeping and immensely moving with droning, frenetic guitars, decaying synth, fragmented, dark piano and pulsing, immersive rhythms.
"A juggernaut of a record, and one that feels like a band coming into their own." - Paste
'Esque' defies expectations with frenetic shifts in mood and energy." - NPR's All Songs Considered
