Artist Resource Guide – Promoters, Venues, Radio and More
Are you a musician or band just getting started, or an established band looking to make life easier as you navigate the music industry? NYS Music’s Artist Resource Guide has you covered.

This guide is intended for musicians who just starting out, and need an assist of assets that can make the business side of music smoother to navigate – so you can get back to writing, playing and enjoying the music.
Established bands – this is your guide too – including comprehensive lists of independent promoters, radio stations and recording studios found in towns all around the state. Discover avenues that might not have been available or known before, bringing your music to fresh audiences.
When NYS Music started in 2015, we were committed to supporting those bands and artists that were just starting out. That continues now in our 10th year, with an Artist Resource Guide designed to support artists and make life a little easier.
If you’re looking for a venue to perform at or a recording studio near you, they’re all broken down by region below.
Need a promoter to set up shows, an independent radio station to play your music, or an event calendar to list your show, a handy guide is available for each.
Or perhaps some inspiration is in order? Check out the many music Halls of Fame found all across the state – there are more than you’d expect, each with their own genre or geographical region to celebrate the greatest Empire State musicians.
Great appreciation goes out to all the contributors who helped in the creation of this comprehensive Artist Resource Guide: Nicolas Sarris, Daniel Myers, Joan Tuong, Amir Galban, Davani Melendez, Sophia Strange, Alana Jones, and Tim O’Shea.
