Back in 2014, Biggie’s widow Faith Evans hinted at the possibility of releasing an album of duets she recorded with the legendary rapper. Tentatively titled The King and I, the new album, according to Evans, has a similar tone to the duets Natalie Cole recorded with her father, Nat King Cole.

Evans confirmed the album will be released in late September on the Dame Dash radio show (see video below). On the same show, she hinted at the possibility of a live performance with a hologram version of Biggie. The first single off the new album should be available this summer.

Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace, also known as the Notorious B.I.G., from Brooklyn, was killed in 1997 in a yet-to-be-solved drive-by shooting in Los Angeles at the age of 24. His murder is often believed to be connected to the murder of Tupac Shakur six months prior and the east-west hip hop rivalry.
