LIMEHOF Announces Full Lineup of Upcoming Music, Comedy and Film Events

The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) has announced a full schedule of live music, comedy and special events coming to its Stony Brook location over the next several months.

The schedule kicks off Sunday, August 30 at 3 p.m. with Long Island rockers Grimm Jack joined by comedian Chris Roach.

Grimm Jack emerged from the New York rock scene with a hard-driving sound that has drawn comparisons to Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith and Alice Cooper, mixed with a touch of Southern blues. The band built a following during the late 1980s and early ’90s behind songs including “Shy Boy,” “One Track Mind,” “Maybelline,” “Lookin’ For Heaven” and “Love Will Save The Day.”

Roach, a Long Island comedian and actor, is best known for appearing alongside Kevin James on the CBS sitcom Kevin Can Wait. The 6-foot-6 comedian has also toured with James as his opening act.

LIMEHOF will continue its Sunday concert series throughout September. Singer-songwriter Debra Lynne performs September 6 at 3 p.m., followed by New York pop-rock band bluerace on September 13 at 3 p.m.

On September 20, Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Hector Martignon and his band will present Sinfonía, Sabor & Cine – A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in Sound & Cinema. A percussion workshop begins at 2 p.m., followed by the concert at 3 p.m.

The month concludes with the 2nd Annual LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival, running September 25-27. Separate tickets are required for the film festival.

October’s schedule includes Marian Mastrorilli with Glenn Govier on October 4, Emmett Hughes on October 11, the Mountain Maidens Folk Show on October 18 and Last Charge of the White Horse on October 25. All performances begin at 3 p.m.

The schedule continues November 8 at 3 p.m. with Blotto Fest.

The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame is located at 97 Main Street in Stony Brook. Unless otherwise noted, events are included with general museum admission, available for $10 as a concert-only ticket, and free for LIMEHOF members.
