Oso Oso released newest single “it’s all bait,” an exhibit of melodic emo roots to usher in the next era for the band. This single, along with two others, come off of Oso Oso’s upcoming album an exchange of information which will be available November 6.

Oso Oso is the longterm indie-rock project of Long Island musician Jade Lilitri. Known for blending emo and alternative rock, the band pairs infectious guitar hooks with intimate, often bittersweet songwriting. Since emerging in the 2010s, Oso Oso has established Lilitri as a distinctive voice in contemporary emo and indie-rock through albums like The Yunahon Mixtape, Basking in the Glow, and Sore Thumb.
Latest single “it’s all bait” lands immediately with bright, driving guitars and undeniable hooks. The single balances the band’s knack for melodic indie-rock with the emotional urgency that has always lived beneath their sound. The narrative of the single finds the narrator stuck between wanting to believe in something and recognizing how easy it is to be pulled toward doubt.
The music video for “it’s all bait” depicts Oso Oso’s Lilitri and Rodriguez performing alongside projected visuals, some of which are taken from past Oso Oso music videos. By bringing these images from the past into the present, the video invokes a reflection of where the band has been and how fare they have come.
This imagery is reinforces the single’s message of resilience in the face of forces that encourage you to give up. Rather than presenting the past as something to move beyond, the video incorporates it directly into the present, turning the band’s history into their present identity.
At its heart, the song is a defiant plea to hold onto desire and dreams in spite of the constant signals telling you to walk away. “it’s all bait” turns that push and pull into something immediate and cathartic.
As the second track on upcoming album exchange of information, “its all bait” establishes a sense of certainty that the rest of the record will gradually complicate.

Oso Oso is kicking off their North American tour October 7. Their tour is beginning on the East coast with guests Leisure Hour and Bad Luck. The band will be performing in New York City on October 8 at Racket NYC, and in Buffalo October 11 at Rec Room. Ticket information can be found here.
