Three members of 1980s rock band Blotto will host Blotto Fest, an event celebrating the band’s unique blend of music and humor, on Nov. 8. The event will take place at Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) in Stony Brook Village.
Blotto was formed in Albany in 1978. They charmed audiences with their comedic, lighthearted lyricism and their playful stage presence, including hits such as “I Wanna Be A Lifeguard.”
Blotto Fest will be hosted by original band members Paul Rapp (“F. Lee Harvey Blotto”) Paul Jossman (“Bowie Blotto”), and Bill Polchinski (“Broadway Blotto”). This event will feature several local musicians joining Rapp, Jossman, and Polchinski in performing a selection of Blotto songs. In true Blotto fashion, each musician will perform under a Blotto-themed nickname.
The musicians LIMEHOF selected to perform with Blotto include Mike the Rodgers (“Bald Beauty Blotto”), Paul Graf (“Billy Bob Blotto”), Frank Doris (“Deuce Blotto”), Tony Carrollo (“Blaze Blotto”), Gary Schoenberger (“Apple Blotto”), Artie Rosato (“Arturo Zamboni Blotto”), Mike Christian (“Faux Blotto”), and Susan Schwartz-Christian (“Bo Blotto”).
Tom Needham, the Vice Chairman of LIMEHOF, commented, “Blotto proved that great rock and roll doesn’t have to take itself too seriously, and we hope Blotto Fest becomes an annual celebration where fans can come together to laugh, sing, and keep their unforgettable spirit alive.”
Admission to Blotto Fest is free for LIMEHOF members. Other guests may purchase a general admission ticket or a $10 at-the-door ticket. The event begins at 3 p.m. on Nov. 8. For more information, visit LIMEHOF’s website.
