Rome Streetz is hyping up the upcoming release of his album Sock It 2 My Pocket with the release of his newest single “High Speed.”
Featured on Mass Appeal Records and produced by acclaimed producer 9th Wonder, “High Speed” gives Rome Streetz a new perspective while holding true to his style of witty lyricism and boldness that has brought him to where he is today. The song focuses on success, being on a roll, and living life while accomplishing what you set out to do.

The thing that makes “High Speed” different right away is the vibe. Though Rome Streetz has made a name for himself with hard hitting delivery and storytelling, “High Speed” has an air of smoothness and celebration about it.
While listening to “High Speed,” the aspect that stands out the most from this production is its atmosphere. 9th Wonder creates a certain dreamy vibe for the track without making it lose that unique New York vibe, somehow managing to remind me of skateboarding on late-night runs under the purplish lights of the street lamps. There is a youthfulness and nostalgic feeling attached to it, the same vibe as when you’re young and you have all that energy and you stay out much later than you should, representing that summer night vibe of New York. “High Speed” is the sort of track which immediately makes you want to turn the volume up, perfect for summer night drives with the windows down or playing this song on the aux and having someone question “Wait, what song is this?”
This single comes after Rome Streetz’s debut single called “Cocaine Coltraine,” a boom bap track that infuses elements of jazz and is produced by Denny La Flare. The track received coverage from a number of media outlets such as Billboard, VIBE, and Okayplayer. Both singles give a glimpse of what can be expected on Sock It 2 My Pocket.

One of the most talented lyricists hailing from New York City, Rome Streetz has maintained his talent through his career. In the review of his last album Trainspotting, the website Pitchfork describes him as “the best bar-for-bar rhymer to come out of New York City in a half-decade.”
Sock It 2 My Pocket is the debut solo album by Rome Streetz under the Mass Appeal Records label, slated for release on July 17. The album features collaborations with Styles P, Lloyd Banks, Westside Gunn, and .idk, with producers including The Alchemist, 9th Wonder, Conductor Williams, Havoc, and others.
In addition to the new album, there will be the 15-city Sock It 2 My Pocket U.S. Tour starting on July 28 in Seattle and continuing in San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and other American cities.
