Mexican singer-songwriter Carín León lit up Madison Square Garden with his “De Sonora, Para el Mundo” Tour. The New York City crowd showed up ready for a full celebration, with cowboy hats, boots, Mexican and other Latin American flags filling the Garden. León’s new album MUDA was just released with sounds that fuses salsa, blues, rock, and música mexicana all together.

Originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, Carín León has become one of the biggest names in música mexicana today. His music blends together regional Mexican music with pop, blues, and country creating a unique combination rooted in tradition and fresh. He is currently on his “De Sonora, Para el Mundo” Tour which he is and has brought his music to more than 20 cities in the United States and Canada. The tour was initially announced a few days after León won his second Grammy for best música mexicana album for Palabra De To’s (Seca), after his 2025 win for Boca Chueca, Vol. 1.

From start to finish, the energy was high throughout the arena and was loud and emotional. Fans sang along with every song and danced with the rhythm . His band brought a rich sound with horns, guitars, percussion, and other instrumentation that made you really feel the music in your body. The Madison Square Garden show was added in the midst of his tour following his other New York-local shows at Barclays Center on June 5 and Prudential Center on June 7.

León has a wonderful and fun on-stage presence that kept the whole performance alive and thriving. His voice carried throughout the Garden with a rawness that made the heartbreak songs hit even harder and the upbeat songs feel bigger.
What stood out most was how naturally he connected with the audience. Throughout the show he would throw his hats and sign a ton of autographs for fans. He spoke to the crowd with a big smile and gave fans the feeling that he was just as excited to be there as they were.

The show moved through different parts of his catalog with songs like “Una Vida Pasada”, “La Boda del Huitlacoche”, “El Tóxico”, “Que Vuelvas” which is a collaboration with Grupo Frontera, and “Según Quién” which León is featured on with Colombian superstar Maluma. León also performed covers of Maná’s “Vivir Sin Aire”, Willie Colón’s “Talento de Televisión”, and Monchy & Alexandra’s bachata hit “Hoja En Blanco.”

Visually, the production was incredible and breath-taking as confetti would filled the air, flames would shoot up on stage, and cool lights and visual displays on stage. The performance felt cinematic with León getting a spotlight on him multiple days throughout.

Overall, Carín León’s Madison Square Garden show was a powerful and strong reminder of how far música mexicana has traveled and how it continues to connect with audiences. The night was filled with pride and energy. Carín León continues his North American tour with stops including Baltimore, Ontario, cities in California, and sold-out shows at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
