On May 19, Governor Hochul announced the opening of Troy Savings Bank Music Hall’s new Capital Region Music Hub. The Capital Region Music Hub is a music lab and multipurpose community center on the second floor of the building that will be used for education, performances, community gatherings, and cultural collaborations. The music lab is repurposed bank lobby space converted into a community center. This is the property’s first major renovation in over 20 years. A $15 million renovation and expansion turned it into a multipurpose venue.

In addition, the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system (HVAC system) have been renovated. This consequently creates a more comfortable environment. The HVAC system was carefully installed to preserve the hall’s renowned acoustics. The HVAC system improves the experience of those attending the venue while simultaneously fitting in with its design.

Troy Savings Bank Music Hall has been a home to performers since 1875. Acts such as Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Isaac Stern, Yo-Yo Ma and Vladimir Horowitz have performed at the venue over the years. Known for its breathtaking acoustics, the venue has created unforgettable memories for generations.
This renovation has done much more than just improve upon the music hall. The performances and programs will give back to residents of Troy and visitors alike. The history of Troy Savings Bank Music Hall will be preserved, whilst helping build its future. The new and improved venue will grant access to the arts for many years to come. Renovating the venue was an investment in music and the community.
