UB Center for the Arts Welcomes Community for ‘Spring Into Art’ Celebration

The University at Buffalo Center for the Arts will open its doors to the public on Tuesday, April 28 for its annual Spring Into Art event, a vibrant showcase of creativity spanning performance, visual art, and interactive experiences. Running from 5 to 7 p.m., the event is free and invites both the UB community and Western New York residents to explore the breadth of artistic talent on campus.

A hallmark of the spring semester, Spring Into Art transforms the Center into a hub of activity, featuring contributions from students, faculty, and staff across departments including Theatre and Dance, Music, Media Study, and Art, as well as the UB Art Galleries.

The evening will feature a diverse lineup of performances and exhibitions. Highlights include selections from Into the Woods performed by the Department of Theatre and Dance, appearances by the Zodiaque Dance Company, and works from ChoreoLab. Audiences can also expect performances by student choreographers, cultural dance groups, and instrumental musicians.

Visual arts will play a central role throughout the venue, with exhibitions and hands-on activities hosted by the UB Art Galleries and Department of Art. Film screenings and digital installations from Media Study students will add a multimedia dimension, while the BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition, Memoria, will be open for student-led tours.

“Spring Into Art gives people a chance to see the Center in motion. It is an pooportunity to discover and celebrate the artistic talent at UB, and to experience the work of the artists who make the Center such an inspiring and welcoming place.”

Executive Director Jamie Enser

In addition to viewing artwork, visitors can take part in creative activities, including an interactive tote bag printmaking station. The Spring 2026 Student Art Sale will also offer attendees the chance to purchase original works directly from UB student artists.

With free parking available in adjacent lots and cameras welcome, Spring Into Art provides an accessible and engaging way for the public to experience the energy of UB’s arts community firsthand.
