Mike D 5D, featuring Beastie Boy Mike D and his sons Skyler and Davis Diamond, will be heading out on tour this fall, with a stop in Queens at Knockdown Center on September 9. Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe and Milo Ruscha round out the lineup of 5D, Mike D’s first foray back into live performances since the death of fellow Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch in 2012.

He has recently released “Crypto,” the newest song from his forthcoming debut album, Thank You, to be released on August 28 via Capitol Records. A spirited tongue in cheek meditation on fraud and greed, “Crypto” is the fourth song released in advance of Thank You, an album that has been lauded in advance by The New York Times as “a searing, lo-fi blast of analog synthesizer noise and smashed industrial beats, bearing the influence of dub and the dystopian New York punk band Suicide.”
Mike D 5D will return to U.S. stages with a sold out show August 30 at Boston’s Royal kicking off an itinerary featuring sold out stops in Washington D.C. and Asheville, North Carolina. The tour will also include headline dates in Atlanta and New York City at Knockdown Center on September 9, and an appearance at the Portola Music Festival in San Francisco.
