The night started off with Boston’s pop metal group Major Moment. The duo, Sasha Razumova and Andrey Borzykin, lit up the stage with a mix of the band’s top hits, accompanied by lights that amplified their stage presence. New fans were gained by this performance, and the line to their merch stand was long well-after their opening set concluded.

Plush, a female rock band formed in Albany in 2020, released their debut song ‘Hate’ in 2021 and has grown a strong following online. They have opened for bands like Disturbed and Collective Soul in the past.

Before Plush members Moriah Formica, Ashley Suppa, and Faith Powell even entered the stage, the crowd was cheering and talking with one another about their admiration for the band. Their audience consisted of people of all ages looking forward to what Plush had to offer, which was a female rock band that is changing the rock game.

Their set list offered the fast-paced hits like “Champion” and “Athena” to start the night off with power. They also played a slow section, to which Formica joked, “ugh, the slow section,” but even then, they owned every section of the stage. The fans along the barricade danced, not slowing down even for a second.

Sharkey’s audience also got to see a special moment when Suppa, who usually is a backup vocalist, led the song “Severance” following their title track “Mass Hysteria”, and another new song “Where Is My Mind”.

You cannot deny the band’s chemistry while performing. They all interact with one another and cheer each other on for their solo moments. You can tell how much they love what they’re doing and who they are doing it with, making it all that much more special for those who get to see it.

Their song “Animalistic” was a huge hit for the night, a song about embracing your primal rage. Before closing with their encore, “Hate”, it was a good message about fighting and withstanding what comes at you.
