The Village of Montebello has announced the return of its annual jazz festival at Montebello Village Hall, continuing a tradition that has become a popular community event for residents and visitors alike.
The third annual Village of Montebello Jazz Festival will take place on Saturday, August 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the lower Hudson Valley town in Rockland County. The afternoon will feature a lineup of live jazz performances along with local food trucks, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy great music and food in a relaxed outdoor setting. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs to make the most of the day on the lawn.
The festival carries on a musical tradition that began with Montebello resident Gary Goldberg, who hosted jazz festivals at the historic Ryan Mansion in Montebello. The Village of Montebello has continued that tradition by presenting its own annual jazz festival, drawing strong interest and support from the local community while celebrating the area’s appreciation for live jazz music.
Previous festivals have featured world-class performers, including the Bill O’Connell Quintet, the Curtis Brothers and the Klezmatics. This year’s event, which coincides with the Village of Montebello’s 40th anniversary, will showcase an exciting lineup of acclaimed musicians. Featured performers include Conrad Herwig’s Latin Side All Stars, Hendrick Meurkin’s Samba Jazz Quartet and the Richie Morales Quartet, bringing a mix of Latin jazz, samba and contemporary jazz styles to the stage.
