International music festival Primavera Sound is one you may not have heard about, but it should be on your list for a music vacation.
Taking place from June 3-7, 2026, the festival features more than 150 artists from around the world – including six from New York while centering itself in one of the cultural capitols of the world: Barcelona, Spain!

The 24th edition of the festival is anchored by major international artists of almost every genre, including The Cure, Doja Cat, Gorillaz, My Bloody Valentine, and Peggy Gou. In addition to headliners, the undercard of musicians is nothing to sneeze at either, with genre-defining political artists like Kneecap, up-and-comers like Amaree, and new names that will continue to rise for years to come.

For New Yorkers, there are six hometown favorites playing the festival: Amaarae, Chanel Beads, Fcukers, Geese, Water From Your Eyes, and Blood Orange, but that’s not the only reason to buy a ticket. With 150 artists across three days, the GA ticket (€350) breaks down to just €2.3 per artist – one of the most cost-effective ways to see bands you love. Additionally Primavera Sound hosts it’s Primavera a la Ciutat programming during the week of the festival – expanding the musical power of the festival to “eight venues and spaces around Barcelona (Sala Apolo, La (2) de Apolo, Razzmatazz, Paral·lel 62, LAUT, La Nau, Les Enfants Brillants and the CCCB)… which will feature a total of 90 shows to round off a full week of music.”

While Primavera Sound will dominate the musical headlines of early June, the festival isn’t just a place for music. It’s centered in one of the cultural hubs of Europe, with amazing food (some of which will be on display inside the festival grounds) to stunning architecture, Barcelona creates a backdrop that can’t be missed. Primavera Sound makes a great anchor point for a longer vacation to one of the world’s must-see destinations for music and culture lovers.

We’ll be covering every day of the festival and digging deeper into some of the artists we want to see soon.
