Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs announced they will host a film screening of the documentary Gospel, taking place on Sunday, September, 7 at 2:00 P.M. In addition to the screening of the movie, the evening includes a Q&A with co-producer/ director Fred Ritzenberg and 7-time Grammy winning music producer Joel Moss.

Dating all the way back to 1980, Gospel puts the spotlight on some of the most exciting performances of Gospel music’s most influential artists of the time, such as James Cleveland & his choir, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Twinkie Clark & The Clark Sisters, Rev. Shirley Caesar, Edwin Hawkins & The Hawkins Family.
After the screening, stay for a live Q&A with co-producer/director Fred Ritzenberg and music producer Joel Moss who recorded and mixed the music, as they share stories behind the Gospel genre and reflect on the film’s legacy 45 years later.
This special occasion gives Gospel music fanatics, even newcomers, the chance to see and hear the important cultural background information into the documentary’s impact from the creators. Both Joel Moss & Fred Ritzenberg will be giving off the record stories and talking heritage of a genre that people have loved for decades.
