TP Birthday Celebration Concert – A Night to Remember in Albany

On a cold winter’s night in Albany, music fans were treated to an unforgettable celebration of life, talent, and legacy at the TP Birthday Celebration Concert, at Lark Hall – held in honor of Tom Pirozzi (TP), bass player for Ominous Seapods, Raisinhead and the Deadbeats – the premier Capital District Grateful Dead Tribute band. The event was a fitting tribute to an artist who has shaped the local music scene for decades.

The atmosphere at the venue was buzzing on Saturday, January 11, from the moment fans and friends walked in, with excitement and anticipation hanging in the air. The crowd—ranging from longtime fans to newer faces—knew they were in for a night of incredible live music and heartwarming tributes to Pirozzi’s contributions to the music community.

The concert featured an all-star lineup of guest musicians, including Vinnie Amico (moe.), Jeff Prescott and solo opener, Danny Quane.

Raisinhead’s energetic grooves and the Deadbeats’ Grateful Dead offerings were brought to life with passion and precision.

TP’s deep, resonant bass lines were the backbone of every song, anchoring the performances and giving each track a unique vibrancy that had the crowd moving and grooving.

What stood out most was the sheer joy and camaraderie between TP and the musicians on stage. It wasn’t just a concert—it was a celebration of friendship, artistry, and the deep bond that music can create.

Pirozzi’s infectious enthusiasm and gratitude were evident throughout the evening. As he stood at the front of the stage, soaking in the love from the crowd, it was clear that this birthday celebration wasn’t just about his legacy—it was about the community he had built through music.

Overall, the Tom Pirozzi Birthday Celebration Concert was a triumph—a celebration of an extraordinary talent and the power of music to bring people together.

For anyone who has ever been touched by TP’s bass playing or his music with the Seapods, Raisinhead or the Deadbeats, this night was an unforgettable experience that reaffirmed his place as one of the most important figures in the Albany music scene. Happy Birthday, Tom, here’s to many more years of music.
