Lisa LaMonica has received regional awards for her artwork. She was nominated for Artist of the Year in 2002 by the Columbia County Council on the Arts. Lisa teaches art privately, and has taught at her local community college, at the Hudson Youth Department and the Hudson Senior Center. She has attended the Hudson Children’s Book Festival, every year since its inception.
Her books include Witches and Warlocks of New York, Haunted Catskills, and Images of America:Hudson/Arcadia Publishing; a recipient of a grant from Furthermore, a program of the JM Kaplan Fund. Lisa has written for Chronogram Magazine, Haunted History Trail of New York, Hudson Valley Magazine, the Albany Times Union, and PBS/WMHT.
Featured twice on WMHT, its TV show A House for the Arts(AHA), Lisa was featured as an author and illustrator helping to produce its Halloween show based on stories in Haunted Catskills.
