Joan Tuong is a multi-instrumentalist who discovered her passion for music through the violin at age 10. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sound Recording & Technology at Syracuse University's Setnor School of Music under the guidance of James Abbott, Joan has received honors such as the 2023 Howard County Arts Council Scholarship in Music Production and the Founder’s Music Award at Syracuse University. As a 1st violinist in the Syracuse University Symphony Orchestra and having previously performed with the Columbia Orchestra in Howard County, Joan is deeply engaged in the orchestral scene. Beyond her academic pursuits, she teaches violin, piano, guitar, and voice year-round. Additionally, Joan currently interns for NYSmusic, serving as a Social Media and Marketing professional.
