The Flaming Lips usher in a new era with the announcement of The Teardrop Throbs, their first album in more than six years and their label debut with Third Man Records. Arriving January 22, 2027, the record marks the 17th studio album for the three-time Grammy Award winning band.

The Flaming Lips pair this announcement alongside the release of the album’s first single, “God Will Control The Werewolves.” According to frontman Wayne Coyne, the single grew out of a nighttime game of hide and seek with his two sons. Childhood imagination, parental instinct, and surreal humor set the foundation for the track.
To celebrate this release, The Flaming Lips will embark on an intimate series of two-night shows across the United States and the United Kingdom, with additional dates yet to be announced.
The Flaming Lips will be performing two nights at Irving Plaza in New York City on January 26-27.

The Flaming Lips pre-sale begins October 28 at 10 AM, and local pre-sales begin October 29 at 10 AM. The general sale for all shows go on sale October 30 at 10 AM. For more information, visit flaminglips.com/tour.
