Roger Daltrey Set for ‘A Great Night Out!’ at Tilles Center

Rock legend Sir Roger Daltrey will bring his A Great Night Out! solo tour to Long Island this fall, performing at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville on Friday, October 2 at 8 p.m., with Amy Helm joining as special guest.

The Tilles Center appearance extends Daltrey’s current run of U.S. solo dates and comes just days after performances at The Town Hall in New York City on September 27 and Chevalier Theatre in Medford, Massachusetts, on September 29. While the October 2 show does not appear on the originally announced tour itinerary, the performance is currently listed by both Tilles Center and Ticketmaster.

Daltrey’s A Great Night Out! tour marks his return to solo touring following The Who’s farewell run and builds on the intimate format of his well-received 2024 semi-acoustic shows. Rather than simply recreating a traditional Who concert, the performances give Daltrey room to explore material from throughout his career, mixing The Who classics and rarities, solo selections and reimagined covers with stories from more than six decades in rock music.

For the tour, Daltrey is joined by a nine-piece band featuring Simon Townshend on guitar, Billy Nicholls on mandolin, Jody Linscott on percussion, Doug Boyle on guitar, John Hogg on bass, Katie Jacoby on violin, Steve Weston on harmonica, Geraint Watkins on keyboards and accordion, and Scott Devours on drums.

The lineup allows Daltrey to approach familiar songs from a different direction, with a semi-acoustic, rock-driven sound and an emphasis on musicianship rather than backing tracks. The format also leaves room for setlist surprises and songs rarely performed during The Who’s regular tours.

“Well it’s one more for the road,” Daltrey said when announcing the tour. Following the conclusion of The Who’s final U.S. tour, he explained that the solo dates give him an opportunity to travel with his current band while continuing to search for “different soundscapes” in which to present the songs.

The tour follows another major milestone for the longtime Who frontman, who was recently knighted for his contributions to music and charity. Beyond his decades onstage, Daltrey has played a central role in the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall, helping the annual concert series raise millions for young people with cancer.

The October 2 performance also gives Long Island fans another opportunity to see Daltrey after several New York-area stops on the tour, including Artpark in Lewiston on September 17, The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester on September 22 and The Town Hall in Manhattan on September 27.

Roger Daltrey: A Great Night Out! takes place **Friday, October 2 at 8 p.m. at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, 720 Northern Boulevard in Brookville, NY. Amy Helm will appear as special guest. Tickets are on sale now through the Tilles Center. Tickets and show information at Tilles Center
