On September 10, Breaking Benjamin brought their fall tour to Darien Lake Performing Arts Center with an impressive lineup featuring Chevelle, Starset, and Kami Kehoe.

It was a beautiful evening at Darien Lake as fans steadily filed into the venue, ready for a night filled with some of rock’s biggest songs.

Kami Kehoe

Kicking off the evening was Kami Kehoe, who wasted no time getting the crowd moving.

Kehoe brought plenty of energy to the stage, with one of the more memorable moments coming as she bounced back and forth between the front of the stage and the drums. Her performance was an energetic way to start the evening and get the crowd ready for what was still to come.

Starset

Next up was Starset, bringing their signature sci-fi production to Darien Lake.

Singer Dustin Bates began the performance in a futuristic costume before quickly disappearing and returning to the stage without it. Meanwhile, the drummer and keyboardist performed from an elevated platform, adding another visual element to the band’s theatrical performance.

The band’s set included fan favorites such as “It Has Begun,” “Monster,” “My Demons,” “Die for You,” and “Brave New World.” The combination of the music, lighting, visuals, and elevated stage setup made Starset’s performance feel like more than a traditional rock show—it was a full sci-fi production.

By the time the band reached “My Demons,” the crowd was fully engaged, singing along to one of Starset’s most recognizable songs.

Chevelle

Chevelle took the stage and immediately reminded everyone why they’ve remained a major force in alternative rock for more than three decades.

With 31 years behind them, Chevelle continues to perform with the same intensity that has kept their music relevant across generations. Their set featured songs including “Send the Pain Below,” “The Red,” “Vitamin R (Leading Us Along),” and “Face to the Floor.”

The crowd was especially vocal throughout the performance, with fans singing along to some of Chevelle’s biggest hits.

Hearing thousands of people singing the words back to the band was a highlight of the set and a testament to the lasting impact Chevelle has had on the rock scene.

Breaking Benjamin

Finally, it was time for the headliner, but before Breaking Benjamin even took the stage, the video wall began playing a nostalgic clip of someone using a Windows XP computer and LimeWire to download a Breaking Benjamin song. A Halo-themed media player then appeared with a nod to the band’s song “Blow Me Away.”

For longtime fans, it was a fun trip back to an earlier era of music and the perfect way to build anticipation before the band took the stage.

When Breaking Benjamin finally appeared, the crowd erupted.

The band opened their set with “Awaken,” immediately setting the tone for the night. From there, the set moved through a collection of songs spanning the band’s career, including “Failure,” “Breath,” “Angels Fall,” “I Will Not Bow,” and “The Diary of Jane.”

At times, the crowd could be heard just as loudly as the band, especially during some of the band’s biggest hits. Thousands of fans singing along transformed the venue into one massive chorus.

The set also included “Blow Me Away,” bringing the earlier video-wall tribute full circle, before the band continued through the night with songs that have become staples of modern rock.

As Breaking Benjamin worked toward the end of their set, the energy from both the stage and the audience remained high. The band’s ability to connect with fans was evident throughout the performance, with longtime listeners and newer fans alike singing along.

A Night of Rock at Darien Lake

From Kami Kehoe’s energetic opening performance, to Starset’s futuristic production, Chevelle’s 31 years of experience, and Breaking Benjamin’s massive collection of hits, the fall tour delivered a memorable night at Darien Lake.

It was a beautiful September evening, and the combination of the venue, the lineup, and a crowd that knew nearly every word made for a perfect night of rock.

For fans who have been listening to these bands for decades, it was a chance to relive some of the songs that defined their younger years. For newer fans, it was an opportunity to experience three established rock acts sharing the same stage.

And judging by how loudly the crowd sang along, the music of Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, and Starset isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
