Long Island is getting a new heavy music festival this summer as Zakk Wylde presents Berzerkus Festival, coming to Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on Saturday, August 29.
The inaugural Berzerkus brings together a lineup built around heavy metal, hardcore and hard rock, with Lamb of God, Black Label Society, Down, Suicidal Tendencies, Zakk Sabbath and Dark Chapel, with additional acts and appearances expected to be announced.
At the center of the festival is Zakk Wylde, who will have a major presence throughout the day with both Black Label Society and Zakk Sabbath. Lamb of God adds one of modern metal’s biggest live acts to the bill, while Down brings together its Southern metal sound led by Phil Anselmo. Punk and crossover legends Suicidal Tendencies round out an already stacked lineup.
Berzerkus is also being planned as more than a traditional day of concerts. The Jones Beach event will include a car show, strongman competition and hot sauce eating competition, along with Ride for Dime and The Music Experience, giving fans plenty to check out between sets.
The Jones Beach date follows the first Berzerkus Festival stop on Friday, August 28 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, before the festival heads to Long Island the following day.
With a full day of heavy music and events planned along the waterfront, Berzerkus adds another major summer show to the Jones Beach calendar.
