The Hold Steady have announced the 2026 edition of “Massive Nights,” a series of concerts from December 2 to December 5. Held annually at Brooklyn Bowl, this year marks their 11th time doing the special concert.
The band is based out of Brooklyn and brings energetic indie rock vibes to every show they play. Their catalogue consists of nine studio albums, including Boys and Girls in America. Back in December, they re-released their second studio album, Separation Sunday, in honor of its 20th anniversary. The reissue saw demos, B-sides, and exclusive tracks from their 2005 Virgin Digital Sessions.
Massive Nights begins on December 2 with the band’s “Storyteller’s Set.” This set includes stripped-down versions of their songs with storytelling and lore-driven lyrics. The members also give insight to the tales behind their songs and their creative process behind the reimaginations.
December 3 will have a huge set, with the band playing Boys and Girls in America in its entirety for the 20th anniversary. Additionally, The Hold Steady will perform its favorites and well-known singles from their catalogue as well.
Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5 will close out the Massive Nights event with two sets on each day. These sets will consist of deep cuts and fan favorite tracks for the real fans of The Hold Steady. Along with the sets, Friday will have a Pub Quiz about the band and access to Soundcheck and happy hour.
Before making their stop in Brooklyn, the band will play shows in Portland and Seattle to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Boys and Girls in America. The Mountain Goats will co-headline with The Hold Steady during the short August tour.
