moe. and Umphrey’s McGee continued their moe.ment.um tour in the Garden State bringing friends Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Lotus along for a music filled day that felt more like a festival than a show on June 21.
Lotus started off the show featuring Tim Palmieri’s masterful guitar licks laid upon groove heavy beats.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong played their iconic funk next and got the crowd dancing. Their set included an extensive “Poseidon” jam which went into “Daddy Wasn’t There” in a truly playful and funky Pigeons way.
Umphrey’s McGee took the stage with their rocking sound and crazy guitar solos from Brendan Bayliss who has taken on double duty for guitar parts, due to Jake Cinninger recently departing the band.
moe. closed out the night with a jam heavy set which started and concluded with “Rebubula.” The encore featured members of moe. and Umphrey’s on “Bright Lights, Big City” and “Captain America.”
Jeremy & Greg from Pigeons came out for the final encore, plus Emma Derhak for Deadhead favorite “Franklin’s Tower.”
