Grammy-nominated musician Krishna Das will return to Woodstock this summer as the headlining performer at the Woodstock Festival of Awakening, taking place August 14 to August 16 at Bearsville Center and locations throughout Woodstock.
The three-day festival combines live music, talks, art installations, movement workshops, and community events across Woodstock and Bearsville. The event returns for another year with programming centered around music, wellness, creativity, and personal growth.

Moreover, Krishna Das will headline the festival’s main Saturday gathering at Bearsville Center on August 15. Widely known for helping introduce kirtan music to Western audiences, Das will perform alongside Nina Rao and other guest musicians as part of an afternoon of music and programming spread throughout the Bearsville grounds.
The festival begins on August 14 with a community potluck, an opening ceremony, a fire-and-wishing ceremony, and an ecstatic dance event featuring Mama India.
Saturday’s programming begins early in the morning, including some chanting, Qi Gong, and community gatherings. Following that, the program will move to Bearsville Center for the festival’s largest day of events. Attendees can stop by different activities such as talks, movement workshops, children’s activities, wellness vendors, outdoor art installations, and live music throughout the afternoon. Speakers scheduled to appear include Robert Thurman, Suzan Saxman, Patrick Surdam, and Ira Schepetin.

Additionally, the programming includes yoga sessions, meditation practices, the Healing Garden Market, Awakening Walks, and the Awakening Art Project, which brings artists and installations into the wooded areas surrounding Bearsville. The day concludes with the Tribe of Love & Awakening Dance at the Bearsville Theater.
The festival continues on Sunday with more talks, performances, art installations, dance programs, experimental music experiences, and community gatherings across Woodstock and Bearsville. Organizers have also announced a Medicine and World Music performance featuring a local Grateful Dead band.
Lastly, early-bird weekend passes are available here until June 15 and include admission to all three days of programming. For more information, visit their website.
