Northern Current: A Community Music Festival, a nonprofit, will return to Riverside Park in Saranac Lake on September 6. The free festival will run from 12 pm to 10 pm during Labor Day Weekend, featuring live music, food, art, and family activities in the Adirondacks, for everyone to enjoy.

The 2026 lineup includes The Psycodelics, Driftwood, Double Tiger, Jembaa Groove, Ma’am, The Sven Curth Trio, and The Allens. The festival offers a wide variety of music, including funk, reggae, Americana, Afro-jazz, folk, and local Adirondack music.
The Psycodelics will bring a blend of soul, funk, and psychedelic rock to the stage, while Upstate New York band Driftwood adds folk, bluegrass, and Americana to the lineup. Double Tiger will bring reggae and dub, and Jembaa Groove will add Afro-soul and jazz sounds to the festival.
Additionally, Ma’am’s presence will bring an alt-country and garage-rock style, along with local acts The Sven Curth Trio and The Allens. Interactive projections by The Station will be featured, adding visual, interactive art to the festival as the day turns to night.
Along with the music, Northern Current will have local food vendors and a Kid Zone for children and families. In case of bad weather, the event is expected to still take place, using a large tent as a backup plan.
A volunteer committee organizes Northern Current and operates under the fiscal sponsorship of the Saranac Lake Rotary Foundation. Admission to Northern Current is free, with donations encouraged.
“Northern Current continues to grow because of the incredible support from our community, volunteers, sponsors, and artists,” said Kiki Sarko, event coordinator. “We’re proud to create a space where people can gather to experience amazing music, connect with one another, and celebrate the creative spirit of the Adirondacks.”
