The Mill in Westport has announced its summer 2026 calendar, featuring two curated concert lineups that will bring innovative contemporary music to the Adirondacks. The “Summer Music at the Mill” series will feature eight concerts focused on unusual instrumentation, while “A World of Piano” presents six performances that reframe the piano as a vehicle for improvisation.

The Venue
Built in 1952, the 11,000-square-foot flour mill on Main Street sat abandoned before Taylor Haskins and his wife, visual artist Catherine Ross Haskins, transformed it into The Mill. Today, the Westport venue acts as a music and arts center with exhibitions, a 1920s-themed speakeasy and a chapel-like performance space.

Summer Music at the Mill
Returning for its third season, this year’s lineup will focus on bands exploring the eclectic spectrum of music. Among the highlights are two sets from The Bad Plus, scheduled for June 27, after headlining the Montreal Jazz Festival. Notably, the appearance lands at a milestone moment, as the band enters the final chapter of its 27-year run.
In addition, internationally acclaimed artist DoYeon Kim will showcase the light, deeply expressive sound of the gayageum on July 25. Creative Director and veteran trumpeter Taylor Haskins, who curated the lineup, is also set to perform.

A World of Piano
The summer calendar also includes “A World of Piano,” a series dedicated entirely to solo piano performance. Curated by Grammy-winning pianist Geoffrey Keezer, who will also take the stage June 20, the six-concert program encourages audiences to consider the many voices that can emerge through the instrument.
The series opens June 6 with pianist-composer Sylvie Courvoisier, winner of the Swiss Grand Prix and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Music Award in 2025. From there, the lineup continues with Christian Sands, a Steinway Artist and five-time GRAMMY nominee, on July 18; Montreal-based pianist Jean-Michel Pilc on Aug. 1; South Korean-born pianist Dabin Ryu on Aug. 15; and Charu Suri on Aug. 29.
Seating is limited for both programs. Tickets must be purchased in advance through The Mill’s website.
