The Schenectady-Saratoga Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2026-27 “Repertoire and Orchestration” season, filled with an exciting list of events and shows. The SSSO official season will begin on Sunday, October 25th, and will continue throughout the following year with events in both Schenectady and Saratoga.

On Sunday, October 25th, the orchestra will kick off the season with their “Across the Channel, Across the Pond” concert on the MainStage. The concert will offer a musical journey through Spain and the New World to France, celebrating music without borders.
The “Across the Channel, Across the Pond” concert will feature Marc Migó’s “Carnival de las Indias,” which will be vividly brought to the stage with narration by Annie Dutoit. In addition, the orchestra will perform Saint-Saëns’ majestic “Organ Symphony,” offering one of the most electrifying finales in symphonic literature.
The SSSO will also be back for “Poinsettia Pop,” an annual favorite that will feature two performances at Universal Preservation Hall on December 5th and 6th.
The season will present “A Night at the Movies” on the MainStage on Sunday, January 23rd, bringing Hollywood to life. The cinematic celebration will be led with narration guiding the journey and offering behind-the-scenes stories with an iconic soundtrack.
SSSO and Opera Saratoga are also offering “A Night at the Opera” at UPH on Saturday, March 27th. “A Night at the Opera” will appreciate the beauty of opera in the intimate setting of the Great Hall.
The season will end with profound and transcendent works on Sunday, April 18th, with “Resurrection” on the MainStage at Proctors. Mahler’s “Symphony No.2”is the significant “Resurrection” that narrates a journey from darkness to hope. The journey features soprano and mezzo-soprano soloists and Octavo singers. Mahler’s vision of renewal and redemption is powerfully conveyed in the work leaving the audience uplifted and transformed.
