In between opening for Boys Like Girls ‘The Sound Track of Your Life’ tour, iDKHOW planned some headliner dates across the country. Saturday the 4th, they played at the Anthology in Rochester with special guests Jerry Bigs World Famous Band opening.

Jerry Bigs World Famous Band from Rochester opened the night with high energy and a catalog of punk rock originals. Lead vocalist Maxwell Wakeling only heightened the crowd’s anticipation by encouraging dancing, moshing, and crowd surfing. Wakeling himself crowd-surfed towards the end of the set, prompting others to join in as well.

By the time iDKHOW hit the stage, the crowd was amped up for the set. iDKHOW (a.k.a i don’t know how but they found me) is an American indie-pop-based solo act from Salt Lake City, Utah, fronted by Dallon Weekes, previously of Panic! At The Disco. Weekes started the set with crowd favorite “Leave Me Alone”, earning a round of cheers and a sign raised by fan Jamie Studer, which Weekes recognized.

Throughout the set, Weekes interacted with the crowd, complimenting their support ‘Sounds like we got some singers in here tonight, I like that about you.” Audience members only raised their support from here, especially for the front man’s favorite song. He acknowledged this one, their song “A LETTER”, is “Kind of weird” but taught the left and right side varying voice parts.
Each side of the room took up the challenge, impressing the band with the feedback. “This is my least popular song, but I can’t stop playing it because of what you guys did, that was for me, so thank you so very much.”

The band ended with an encore of “Nobody Likes the Opening Band” in which, midway through, Weekes complimented the opening band, Jerry Big World Famous Band, for their set, saying, “It’s not an easy job that can be taught,” earning cheers throughout the venue in support of how well they did.
Before the rest of the song, Weekes also made some jokes about the boyfriends present, “standing there, arms crossed, stone-faced, doing their best, taking their girlfriends’ places, give it up for the boyfriends. I’ve heard the most romantic thing you can do is buy a t-shirt.” Laughter spread, and if you looked carefully, you could see girlfriends looking at their boyfriends, smiling.
The last song was “Razzmatazz”, leaving the night on a high note. At the end, Weekes, along with his band members, all took a bow together before exiting the stage, leaving the crowd in awe.
