49th Annual Saratoga Jazz Festival Announces Line-Up

The Saratoga Jazz Festival has announced a two-day festival and weekend experience for Saturday, June 27th, and Sunday, June 28th at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. This festival marks the 49th Annual Saratoga Jazz Festival and features a unique lineup of 22 musical groups and 13 festivals.

The Saratoga Jazz Festival is headlined by Patti LaBelle, a R&B legend, and The Revivalists, a New Orleans rock collective. Patti LaBelle, often called the “Godmother of Soul,” is celebrating more than 65 years in entertainment. She has timeless elegance and unique vocals. Her famous hits include “Lady Maramalde,” “If Only You Knew,” “On My Own,” and many more.

The Revivalists are known for their hit “Wish I Knew You,” and have sold out shows at Radio City Music Hall and Red Rock Amphitheater. They bring high energy and appeal as they fuse rock, R&B, funk, and soul, creating a dynamic on-stage act.

Danny Melnick, Festival Producer and President of Absolutely Live Entertainment, comments that “From Patti LaBelle to the Revivalists, and from Dianne Reeves to ‘Kingfish,’ this year’s line-up captures 49 years of presenting iconic artists alongside the next generation. That mix of legacy and discovery is the heart of the Saratoga Jazz Festival.”

The Saratoga Jazz Festival additionally features an exciting lineup of more artists, including Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Cimafunk, a Grammy-winning blues guitarist, who fuses Afro-Cuban funk, Latin rock, and contemporary beats. The Dip will also perform, along with Ana Popovic, a blues guitarist, Eddie 9V, a rock-and-blues artist, and Bass Queens, a New Orleans-inspired brass ensemble.

The festival will also feature Acclaimed Jazz vocalists such as Dianne Reeves, a five-time Grammy winner, Cècile McLorin Salvant, a three-time Grammy winner; Tyreek McDole, a new voice in jazz; and Sasha Dobson, a singer-songwriter known for her work in jazz and folk traditions.

The festival will also highlight two major musical milestones with centennial celebrations. This includes the SPAC debut of Miles Electric Band: Celebrating Miles Davis’s Centennial, which was founded by Vince Wilbrun Jr., an Emmy and Grammy-winning drummer. Alongside Wilbrun, Darryl Jones, Robert Irving III, and Keyon Harold will join the performance.

The Skidmore Jazz Institute Faculty All-Stars will also perform to celebrate the centennial of John Coltrane, a legendary saxophonist.

The festival will also feature Terri Lyne Carrington, a Grammy-winning drummer and composer, and her Band Social Science and Lakecia Benjamin, a genre-blending saxophonist. In addition to Avishai Cohen, a trumpeter, with his band Big Vicious, Orrin Evans with his trio, Alex Tarantino and her quartet, and Bill Frisell with Thomas Morgan and Rudy Royston, and special guest Gregory Tardy.

GE Vernova, a global energy company, is presenting the festival. CEO Scott Strazik commented, “The Jazz Festival continues to be a cornerstone of this community, a historic event that ties together the best of music, art, culture, and creativity. We are proud to play a role in supporting an institution that does so much and which reflects the ideals we work to embrace as a company every day, including community partnership, the value of collaboration, and the belief that last impact starts locally.”

The festival will also feature special amenities, including diverse food offerings, a fine arts and craft fair, and artist merchandise signings. Guests also have the ability to bring personal food, beverages, lawn chairs, tents, and lawn umbrellas. The event additionally has free parking.

The performances begin at 11 am on Saturday, June 27th ,and 11:45 am on Sunday, June 28th. Tickets are on sale February 6 at 10 am for SPAC members and February 13 at 10 am to the general public.
