As a part of their ‘Time of Your Life Tour,’ Laundry Day played at The Song and Dance in Syracuse on Tuesday, February 3, to a crowd full of fans, a lot of whom got there early before doors in anticipation of the show.

Syracuse University artist Sammy Curcuru started off the night with originals, even encouraging the audience to sing the lyrics “Do your thing” from an unreleased song and a cover of “Year 3000” by the Jonas Brothers. After that, NYC-based DJ Satchel Shure played a set featuring songs by popular artists such as Charli XCX.

Laundry Day, the Manhattan-based band, started their freshman year at Beacon High School. After over a decade of creating music together, they have amassed a large audience of fans in the Indie-pop scene.
Before the band hit the stage, the lights went out, and the pre-show music stopped. The audience was silent, pressing record on their phones. “R U READY?” started, and the energy erupted in the venue; the audience was more than ready for the night ahead.
Jude Lipkin, the band’s front man, admired the crowd, joking that the stage had an odd extension into the crowd. He told them he’d make it out there eventually, but had to be warmed up first. When he did make it out there, fans screamed and danced with him as he then jumped into the crowd, creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those there.

Lipkin addressed Syracuse’s crowd multiple times about their warm welcome, later even giving the crowd a surprise, “This one’s a very special one for you guys, this one’s called ‘FRIENDS’.” Faces lit up as people smiled at their friends next to them, and the band acknowledged their own friendship.
The encore started with an entrance to ‘Dancing Queen’ from ABBA and included their hit songs ‘Why is everyone a DJ?’, ‘SUPERMODEL’, and ‘SEE YOU IN ANOTHER LIFE.’ Henry Pearl used this time to interact stage left, shredding his bass lines into the final moments of the evening. The back-to-back hits left the audience wanting more even after the encore had concluded.
