Borderland Festival has officially announced the artist schedule for 2026. This year’s schedule showcases the festival’s commitment to representing both national headliners and an unprecedented number of local artists. The three-day event, running from September 18–20 at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, promises music, culture, and community.
This year’s lineup features an eclectic mix of national, regional, and local artists, covering genres from indie rock and folk to blues, soul, and bluegrass, giving music lovers a chance to experience everything within three days. Headlining the festival are Alabama Shakes (Friday, September 18), Jack White (Saturday, September 19), and Lord Huron (Sunday, September 20); this stacked lineup ensures a weekend of great live music, festival fun, and more for festival goers alike.
Other standout acts include Pixies, The Head and the Heart, Jesse Welles, Flipturn, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Leftover Salmon, Chance Peña, Shovels & Rope, Mon Rovîa, Jonah Kagen, Rebirth Brass Band, Penelope Road, Clay Street Unit, Arcy Drive, and Steph Strings. The festival will also feature over a dozen local artists, highlighting the variety and musical history of Western New York.
Borderland Festival has always been a platform for local talent, and this year’s lineup takes it a step further with Buffalo’s finest kicking off the weekend, including Witty Tarbox, who will open the festival on the Homespun Stage at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, followed by VOYAGR, the winner of the 2026 Battle of the Borderland, on the Main Stage at 3:00 P.M. Additionally, there will be regional debuts with Rochester’s The Sideways and Central New York’s The Mustard Tigers, who will be making their first-ever appearance at Borderland.
Moreover, there will be a tribute to Bob Weir with the hometown trio, Organ Fairchild, and they will be teaming up with jam legends moe. The “Reckoning: A Grateful Tribute to Bob Weir” will be on Friday at 5:30 P.M. on the Main Stage. For bluegrass and Bloody Mary lovers, start your festival morning right with Bluegrass & Bloody Marys at 11:15 A.M. on Saturday and Sunday, featuring Blind Owl Band and Buffalo’s Folkfaces. On Sunday at 12:45 P.M., there will be a Borderland band camp featuring the Sportsmen’s Americana Music Foundation, and Buffalo Music Club will present the next generation of local musicians on the Homespun Stage.
Lastly, there will be Yoga at the Mansion where you can begin your weekend festival activities, with a relaxing start at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday and Sunday, hosted by The Practice. Additionally, Saturday at 2:00 P.M., join the conversation for Down on the Farm: A Discussion of Farmland’s Impact on Energy, Food Sourcing & Our Future on the Homespun Stage.
