The Sons of Legion Soul to SØL tour delivered a church-like experience to the Capitol Theatre on Wednesday, September 23. Creating a fun yet ethereal, and inspirational event that anchors you into the present and motivates the masses.

Over the last few decades churches have seen a dramatic decline in attendance, but I would argue that a concert is the new modern day church. Both require a form of payment to attend, bring a sense of community and stir the soul. Churches however, tend to carry dogmatic tendencies where the music community embraces bridging people together when community is needed the most.

The Capitol Theatre also known as ‘The Original Rock Palace’ made the perfect environment for rock due Adam McInnis and Mario Marchetti. Who have defied the matrix and the music machine by utilizing unorthodox methods to become a mainstream sensation independently. Leaning hard into grit, authenticity, relatability and integrity.

This breathtaking show carries you through a push and pull magnetic experience that is visually stimulating, unpredictable and inspirational.

Visually, the show entices with blasts of haze, and dynamic lighting that stimulates the eye. Highlighting or shadowing performers at key moments to create drama, tell a story or distract the audience.

The lighting coupled with the unpredictability made the show a little extra special. While everyone was distracted on stage Adam McInnis magically appeared in one of the boxes in the balcony and made his way down the audience to the stage while singing a cover of Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight”

In addition to SØL musical talent, addictive lust for life they have a heartfelt desire to spread positivity to the masses. Expressing the need to color outside the lines, to take risks, to make art, to play music, to be out of the box because there are no boxes in this reality, just ideas. We create our own cages to our dreams and to be free to dream loud because the world needs it now more than ever.

Consequently, with grit, soul, and unbreakable determination Sons of Legion have cracked the code of the matrix and accomplished the unthinkable. A path that many have tried but few have accomplished in today’s society. The music industry machine produces carbon copies of what already works but it takes heart, intuition, passion and determination to be authentically you and succeed. The world needs more real music made with raw talent.
