The Songs of Love Foundation’s 11th annual benefit concert “Dog Pound Disco” will take place September 24 at The Cutting Room. Psychedelic funk-rock fusion band Dogs in a Pile will be headlining this event, bringing together live music and community to fundraise for people of all ages facing serious illness.
Dog Pound Disco is being held in honor of Connor McEvoy, life coach and creator of “Kickin it with Connor,” and the late Scott Nadboy, longtime supporter of the Songs of Love Foundation and dedicated Dogs in a Pile fan. The lives of McEvoy and Nadboy reflect the central themes of the event: selflessness, connection, and music.
The Songs of Love Foundation is a Queens based non-profit organization with a dedication to using original personalized songs to make a positive difference in lives of those facing serious illness or other challenges. Since 1996, the foundation has created over 50,000 songs at no cost to the recipient and their families.
Guests of Dog Pound Disco are encouraged to embrace the theme and dress in their best 1970s disco attire. Both General Admission “Dog Pound Passes” and VIP “Alpha Dog” tickets are available for purchase. Dog Pound Passes allow admission for the concert, whereas the Alpha Dog package includes early venue access, private reception, two-hour open bar, private performance, meet-and-greet with Dogs in a Pile, and signed event poster. All proceeds will go towards the creation of future Songs of Love.
VIP doors open at 5 pm, General Admission doors open at 6:30 pm. The Songs of Love reception and concert will follow later in the evening.
